We’ve also decided to track the final table this year; i.e., who makes the final table in each game. Furthermore, one additional point will be awarded to those who make the final table (against a minimum field of 16). Much like the attendance point, winners will not be awarded the final table point. Greetings all:

With this post, we bring to a close one helluva year of poker. We say it a lot, but we mean it: we hope you’ve had as much fun playing as we’ve had hosting. Once again, we’d like to thank you for coming down to play last night, and for helping to create a great season of exciting card action.

A big welcome to our newest (and hopefully regular) player Mike Schiffman. Thanks to everyone for making him feel welcome.

Our next game on January 10 will be the Tournament of Champions Open Invitational (TOCOI*). This will be a premium buyin event, and will include a chip bonus system based on your performance this year. More details will be posted here as they are made available. NOTE: this game will replace our regular January game. From this point forward, we will be moving to an 11-game season, with the TOCOI being held the following January.

October Game Results; Next Game November 8

Hey everybody:

Thanks again for navigating the pothole-laden passage named Providence last night to participate in our peripherally pleasant poker game.

We had a great group, and we’d like to welcome back Craig to his first game this year. Hopefully he’ll be back on a more regular basis. To those that had to miss the game, sorry you couldn’t make it; hope all is well.

Once again, we hope you had as much fun playing as we did hosting. Hope to see you next month on November 8 for the next (and actual) Second Saturday Showdown. Look for an evite coming soon.
