2008 TOCOI Information

NOTE: New time! Game starts at 12:00PM!

Hope you can make it out to the 2008 Tournamment of Champions Open Invitational (TOCOI) on January 10. The game will start at 12:00 PM, and will feature:

• 30-minute levels
• 2.5x the regular buyin
• Chip bonuses based on your point performance in the 2008 season

If you haven’t already, please RSVP to the evite you recently received. Due to custom starting chipstacks, we’ll need an accurate count prior to the day of the game.

As always, it’s BYOB. We will provide some heavier food (sandwiches and the like) along with the normal snacks and sundry items.

We received two really thoughtful gifts from a couple of our regulars, tokens of appreciation for us hosting a game once a month. I wanted to take a quick moment to thank them here for their very thoughtful offerings, and to show off one of them.

Please reference the picture below. The plate used to contain cookies. They’re gone now. There are some crumbs left – you can see them if you look close – but even they won’t make it to next sunrise, I’m sure. Allison, we need recipes, stat.

To the left is one of the coolest gifts we’ve ever received: a delicious bottle of Norton from the Hinnant Family Vinyards. What makes it particularly special is the label. Thanks Ricky!

Bounty Freeroll for December 6 Game

Hello all:

As a small token of our appreciation, we’re offering a FREE $5 bounty chip for our next game on December 6. If you’re not familiar with the bounty chip thing, it works like this:

When you sit down, you’ll be given a purple chip – your “bounty” chip. If you eliminate a player, you win his or her chip. When you are eliminated, your chip goes to the person that knocked you out. Keep in mind that you can only lose your chip; e.g., if you knock out 2 players and are then eliminated, you give up your chip but get to keep those that you won. When you’re done for the night, cash in any bounty chips you may have won for $5 each. Only one person will not lose their bounty chip, and yes, they get $5 for keeping their own chip in addition to $5 each for any others they may have won.

Congratulations Chris and Meredith!

No bad beats for the WGC’s newest couple, Chris and Meredith McBride! Indeed, two of our regular Second Saturday Players each caught a one-outer on Saturday, August 24, around 4:00PM. Naturally, a reception followed, and a good time was had by all, especially Chris (see below). We think he calls this the River Boogie Flop (unconfirmed). We wish them the best as they buyin to their new life together. That is, we wish them the best save winning our chips at the tables. OK, they can have Sheila’s, but not mine. Congratulations Chris and Meredith!
