December Results, TOCOI January 10

Greetings all:

With this post, we bring to a close one helluva year of poker. We say it a lot, but we mean it: we hope you’ve had as much fun playing as we’ve had hosting. Once again, we’d like to thank you for coming down to play last night, and for helping to create a great season of exciting card action.

A big welcome to our newest (and hopefully regular) player Mike Schiffman. Thanks to everyone for making him feel welcome.

The final points race is below. Congratulations to our regular season points winner Tim W.!

More congratulatory well-wishes go out to our December winners:

  1. Mike S.
  2. Ant.
  3. Justin C.
  4. Chris M.
  5. Chuck G.

Our next game on January 10 will be the Tournament of Champions Open Invitational (TOCOI*). This will be a premium buyin event, and will include a chip bonus system based on your performance this year. More details will be posted here as they are made available. NOTE: this game will replace our regular January game. From this point forward, we will be moving to an 11-game season, with the TOCOI being held the following January.

  1. Thanks to Ant and Sheila. The freeroll was certaily not necessary but very thoughtful and just another reason they are fabulous to host such a fun and exciting tourney.

Which reminds me of the time Ant and I were about 40 klicks outside Saigon. It was hot and wet, like always, and I feared our last deck of playing cards might suffer the ill will of our jungle environs. Ant always laughed this off, saying things like, “Hey man, don’t worry…I’ve seen worse” Cool as a cucumber was Ant, boy. and the funny thing is, after a grueling hike, a firefight that would’ve make Clint Eastwood cry for his momma and taking a piece of Charlie shrapnel to the aorta…(Yeah, I know what you are thinking, but I’m telling you man, Ant had one TOUGH aorta)we made it back to Saigon and wouldn’t you know, my bicycles were A-OK! Number 1. We loved them long time……now that was a tourney.
