September Game Results

Greetings all:

Thanks to everyone that came down to play last night. A good time was indeed had by all. Perhaps the most eerie development came from commenter Ace of Spades’ appellation of portent (see here and here), as the same said Ace fell on the river to deliver one of the worst beats this humble game has ever seen. (Congrats, Meredith; Justin, hope you’re doing OK). It was like he knew the eponymous card would create some kind of drama. Scary.

Also, we’d like to welcome back our newest player, Buzz. Thanks, everyone, for making him feel right at home. Buzz, we hope you become a regular.

Kudos to our winners:

  1. Tim W.
  2. Meredith M.
  3. Ant.
  4. Sheila P.
  5. Chuck G.

Hope to see you next month. Due to scheduling conflicts, the game will again be moved from the Second Saturday to the first (October 4). Stay tuned for an evite.

  1. SOOOOOOO….you think you can simply guess who the Ace Of Spades is? Bwaaa HA HAAAAAaaaaaaaaaa. Of course I made my presence felt…..I always do…..

Potholes. Part of the Waxhaw Tourism Council’s grand scheme to make Waxhaw even more of a tourist mecca?

If it weren’t for The fabled 2nd Saturday Showdown, no one would travel to Waxhaw. The Proctor’s and the Green’s should be getting some of those highly prized tourism bucks. Oh, I forgot, they are….from Tom Scott!

One last thing, I agree with the Nester guy. How about the “Whatever Saturday is convenient for Ant Showdown.” Oh, and let’s not forget the 2nd Saturday Showdowns that take place on Sundays! Brilliant.

Wait until October 4th when the Ace of Spades will again spoil someone’s night! Bwaaaaaaa HA ha haaaaaa.

  2. See, people? THIS is an example of the healthy dialogue that this blog – nay, the WORLD – so desperately needs. Thank you, Ace, for looking beyond the thin veil of Web 2.0 to break down the walls that keep us all from reaching out and, well – dare I say it – TOUCHING each other.

I’m Anthony and I approve this message.
